Central location in the heart of Zillertal valley, 15 km from Mayrhofen and 33 km from the Hintertux glacier. The bottom station of the Zillertalbahn steam train is a popular meeting point of nature enthusiasts.
Enjoy a splendid hike to the waterfalls or take the public bus to get to the Hochzillertal hiking area and the Zillertaler pass road.

The base station of the ski lifts into the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area is located in Kaltenbach. Named "The Best Connection" the ski area boasts 90 km of impeccable ski runs all the way down to Hochfügen. Two 8-person gondolas ensure that waiting lines are virtualley unknown here.

The famous "Kristallhütte" and “Wedelhütte” already saw such famous guests as the German and the Austrain presidents, and are considered as two of the Ziller Valleys best ski huts. But there are also plenty of other mountain huts and inns in the ski area that invite you to stop by and relax. At the base station there are several après-ski bars and many ski service shops.
