Cividale del Friuli with the way of the Lombards, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The city is a real gem, rich in works of art. These can be seen at the Archaeological Museum and at the Museum of the Cathedral. The Lombard temple is one of the most straordinare and mysterious monuments of the late Middle Ages in the West. The ' Celtic Hypogeum : a mysterious system of underground caves in Cividale , whose function is still unknown. The area of the eastern hills
is characterized by a continuous succession of hills ,strategic axis that extends east -west , covering large areas used for growing grapes of the highest quality.

From Piazza della Resistenza we go along Via Gorizia, turn left into Via Carraria and follow this all the way to the Carraria crossroads.

We turn right here, opposite the Church of San Rocco.

Going along Via Druga and then Via della Fornaz, walking on the asphalt road between fields and vineyards, we arrive at Fornalis.

After crossing the SP53 and traversing a saddle between the opposite hills, we continue straight ahead towards the houses and the ancient church of Darnazzacco.

At the exit of the village we turn left onto the Sponseot road and soon we are in Gagliano.

We turn left into Via Doria and at the next junction we keep right for Strada di Prepotto, we continue on this route that goes along fields and vineyards as far as Bivio Romanutti.

We continue straight along the SP48 towards Prepotto for about 100 meters, then turn left and follow a shared access country road that winds through meadows and woods until we reach the rough road that links Cividale del Friuli with Albana.

We follow the asphalt road to the right for over 2 kilometers as far as a junction  169 m high, with a panorama of the Judrio Valley.

At the junction, we leave the cart road and continue straight along a path that leads downhill to the homes of Centa, nearby which we connect with CAI trail 748.

Following trail 748 we soon reach the cart road of the Judrio Valley, which we go along for little more than 200 metres , then turning left towards Albana, at 99 m. We pass the village and enter the provincial road that leads o Mernicco, passing the Judrio River.

At the entrance of the village we go left up a steep staircase leading to the church situated just outside the village.

We follow the asphalt road for a short distance, which leads us to the main church square and, at the first junction, we turn left onto a cemented road that leads to the Italian-Slovenian border and the houses of Breg, at 190 m, where the stage ends.
