The Garmisch-Classic roundtrip offers a simple, safe opportunity for those without any previous alpine experience, for families with children and for senior citizens to discover the mountain.

The Alpspitzbahn cable car serves as a convenient climbing aide to Osterfelderkopf, the first station of the roundtrip (2,050 meters or 6,725 feet). Once you reach the top the enormous north face of the Alpspitze dominates the panorama. In addition to the Summit Adventure Trail, a circular route suitable for baby buggies which leads to the spectacular AlpspiX Viewing Platform, the Pleasure Adventure Trail also starts from here.

The journey proceeds with the Hochalmbahn cable car which takes you down to 1,700 metres above sea level.You then walk on to the Kreuzeckbahn cable car along a well-developed trail. The walk takes about 30 minutes and the route is lined with benches at vantage points. Anyone who has gazed across the alpine landscape here knows exactly what it means to take in and truly savour the natural beauty of the mountains.

The Alpspitze shows all its magnificent glory again at the Kreuzeckbahn mountain terminal. Then it’s a swift ride down on the Kreuzeckbahn cable car – and once they’ve reached the valley terminal,many day-trippers treat themselves to a stop-off at CaféBar Kandahar for drinks and refreshments.
