The MuseumsQuartier Wien (MQ) is one of the largest cultural areas in the world. Located on the edge of the Old Town, in the former imperial court stables, it combines facilities of various art forms, restaurants, cafés and shops in a post-modernist combination of baroque buildings and modern architecture on an area of 60,000 m².

A flair that matches the urban lifestyle of the visitors: Preserve the old, experience the new and enjoy everything together. Accordingly, a colourful and diverse local scene has established itself here, against the backdrop of important museums and collections:

After your visit to Schiele you can stop by Café Leopold, which has its own DJ line on some evenings. In the Café.Restaurant HALLE you can take a look at the furnishings of the Viennese trendy bar designers Eichinger or Knechtl. The MQdaily invites you for a short stopover. From here you can best follow the hustle and bustle on the large square.

Worth seeing is the design of the Corbaci in the Architekturzentrum, which was created by Anne Lacaton and Jean-Philippe Vassal. The canteen, right next to a bookshop, is also a place to browse through the books purchased next door.

Some things to look at
The facilities in the new cultural district: the Leopold Museum, which is kept in lime white, the mumok - museum moderner kunst, which is covered in dark grey basalt, the Kunsthalle and the Architekturzentrum Wien. Furthermore, the MuseumsQuartier offers numerous rooms and experimental areas for cultural initiatives.
