The idyllic, cosy winter holiday resort at 1600 metres above sea level is considered particularly family-friendly and has been awarded the "Family Destination" seal of approval by Swiss Tourism. It is located around 15 kilometres from the capital Vaduz in the heart of the Liechtenstein Alps.
Three of the five lifts were newly built in 2006 and are regarded as high-performance facilities (including a modern six-seater chair lift with heated seats). Snow-making systems optimise snow safety. The 23 kilometres of pistes offer a wide range of possibilities, from simple practice slopes to challenging routes. A small fun park is available for snowboarders and trick skiers. Malbun is also an Eldorado for guided ski tours.
The town centre is traffic-calmed. A varied winter programme complements the many winter sports possibilities.
