In Summer
Summer is alpine season in Adelboden. Lush meadows are in full bloom – no wonder hundreds of cows are heading up to the high pastures. A particularly impressive sight is the cattle drive to the Engstligenalp, passing the 600-metre-high Engstligen Falls and leading up to the vast plateau. Along flower-lined paths, the alpine idyll between the Niesen chain and the Wildstrubel massif can be explored on foot. While experienced hikers follow the renowned Via Alpina route, younger visitors can discover one of Switzerland’s most famous legendary figures on the Vogellisi trail. The stunning mountain landscape also provides the backdrop for many other summer activities. The Tschenten cable car takes visitors up to the Giant Swing – a huge swing that has become a popular selfie hotspot, especially among younger generations. Opposite, on the Silleren, action takes center stage: in Trottiland, guests race downhill over 45 kilometers across seven routes.

In Winter
Those in search of a winter fairy tale will find their own in Adelboden. Light powder snow and sparkling crystals stretch as far as the eye can see. With 210 kilometers of perfectly groomed ski slopes, 72 modern lifts, a snow park, and a freeride arena, the Adelboden-Lenk ski region offers something for beginners and experts alike. Cross-country skiers will also find a wide variety of scenic trails. Romantic winter walking paths and thrilling toboggan runs invite visitors to explore the alpine winter world of the Lohnerdorf. And once you stop at one of the many mountain inns or alpine huts, you’ll want to stay. The culinary winter experience is crowned by the largest igloo restaurant in Europe. On the Engstligenalp, you can enjoy the Adelboden winter surrounded by beautiful ice sculptures and the delicious aroma of fondue.
