Château d'Oex

Widely known for its International Hot Air Balloon Festival, Château-d’Oex hides a great number of treasures that can be enjoyed all year round. An escape on Temple Hill is a must for those who want to enjoy an exceptional view of the Valley and the surrounding mountains.

The village offers numerous culinary stops allowing you to discover authentic local products, one of which being the famous Etivaz AOP / PDO cheese, produced in the high pasture chalets of the Pays-d’Enhaut. As for activities, the ‘Espace Ballons’ takes the visitor to the heart of the hot air balloon history. A detour via the Old Pays-d’Enhaut Museum invites you to discover the art of silhouette cutting, very popular in this region.
In winter the La Braye ski area offers about 40 kilometers of ski slopes and which transform themselves into just as many walking and touring possibilities in summer.
