Situated at the foot of the mighty Grimmings, the village is the ideal starting point for numerous vacation activities. Sport and culture are the themes of the village and so, in addition to the International Chamber Music Days, the Summer Academy and the Grimmingsymposion, there are also well-known sporting events such as the 24-hour charity run or the soccer training camps, where top teams such as Real Madrid and AS Roma have kicked the ball.
The village of Donnersbach was voted the most beautiful village in Europe in 2007. With the natural, nearby Styrian ski and mountain village - the Planneralm - the village offers peace, relaxation and adventure at any time of year.
In summer, the Donnersbachklamm* natural monument fascinates visitors with its waterfalls and romantic spots. Cool refreshment is also available in the small but fine leisure facility with swimming pond and if you want to go high up, simply take the 12 km long, toll-free mountain road to the Planneralm. A visit to the Latschenbrennerei is a true sensory experience!
