A holiday experience without borders

The market town of Arnoldstein is quite right to make this promise, as it lies at the geographical junction of Austria, Italy and Slovenia.

In Arnoldstein, the carefree coexistence of a wide variety of peoples is part of local customs and traditions.

The town’s local mountain is the Dreiländereck (680–1,600 m), whose summit marks the tri-border point. The Dreiländereck invites you to enjoy an active experience of nature – a wonderful paradise for walkers.
You can either hike up to the summit from the valley, or make it a bit easier on yourself and take the detachable 3-seater chairlift, which takes you up to 1,506 metres above sea level in 15 minutes. (Open from early July 2025)

From the valley station, the “GRENZgenial” themed walking trail leads past 13 interactive stations offering interesting information on the themes of “animals, landscape borders and border stories”.

Here, at the crossroads of Romanic, Slavic and Germanic cultural spheres, you can enjoy a stunning view of the Carinthian mountains or treat yourself to some culinary delights at the mountain restaurant with its large sun terrace or at the Dreiländereckhütte.
For our little mountain enthusiasts, there’s a children’s playground next to the mountain restaurant!
At the valley station, delicious treats are served in the Liftstüberl.
