Welcome to Schwarzenbach!

Schwarzenbach is located at the southern foothills of the Rosaliengebirge, on the eastern edge of the Bucklige Welt, with a scenic view towards Burgenland.

Situated just a few kilometers from the Burgenland border, Schwarzenbach has always been a border town, formerly marking the Hungarian border.

The Archaeological Open-Air Museum Schwarzenbach is a highlight for history enthusiasts and families alike. In the 2nd century BC, the Celts established one of the largest city-like settlements in the Eastern Alps here. Today, replicas and artifacts from that era can be explored.

The Keltenberg also hosts the festival grounds for the annual Celtic Festival, along with various animal enclosures featuring rabbits, goats, alpacas, and free-roaming animals like peacocks.

At the Tower Café, visitors can enjoy imaginative regional dishes on the shaded forest terrace during their visit.

The Johann Giefing Observation Tower is accessible year-round and is also wheelchair accessible thanks to an elevator.
